“Love yourself.” Sounds great, now how the heck do I do that?
To me, “love yourself” always sounded like a foreign language. An obscure idea far off in the distance.
In theory, I understand that you’re supposed to love yourself. But what does it actually mean?
As a child I never felt I was ‘enough’ or worthy of love. Deep down, I thought I was basically worthless and unlovable. As an adult, I manipulated my environment so that it aligned with this perception of myself. I was drawn to romantic partners who treated me poorly, I worked at toxic jobs and wouldn’t pursue my dreams and aspirations.
The greatest gift I gave myself is the realization that my parents weren’t and aren’t perfect, they’re just people who struggled immensely. They never felt lovable themselves.
I was determined to love myself; or at least, figure out what this “thing” called love was.
And I worked for it… Mediations, manifesting with Law of Attraction, affirmations, every self help book, talk therapy, and RTT hypnotherapy (my saving grace).
Everyday I worked on change. I knew that the very same mind holding me back, could also free me. Every negative thought, I replaced with a new constructive one. I constantly reinforced positive thoughts and feelings. Eventually the feelings of lack and limitation started to fade and disappear. I began to feel grateful, free, completely lovable. I belong. I exist because I’m lovable.I am lovable. And so here I am…
Loving myself took; and continues, to take work. Dirty messy work. And it’s a practice. Every damn day. And it is so worth it.
When you love yourself, you also allow acceptance to move in. It’s not easy to be conscious of why we don’t love ourselves; but, it’s the first step to empower yourself. To take responsibility for your own life and destiny.
It’s uncomfortable to move through your issues. The more you push through your negative conscious thoughts; the closer you are, to taking back your life and your power.
When you align yourself with self-love, everything around you automatically falls into place.
Remind yourself everyday, there is no one else in the world exactly like you, for If there were, there’d be no need for you here.
You are lovable. You are enough. You are more than enough, and I am blessed and honored to be a part of your world.
Sending so much love and abundance. I heal. You heal. Change your beliefs, change your life.
