We waste so much time trying to de-code and decipher texts and behaviors.

It’s not your job to overanalyze what he “really means”. And definitely don’t go to a bestie seeking answers on his confusing behaviors. Your bestie never knows! She may have the best intentions; but she has, the least objective answer on the planet.

Agonizing over his texts; adding meaning where there is none, is a waste of your precious time.  Saying, “well he said this… what do you think it means?” Or “he said this, but it’s probably because he’s stressed about work”. You may be a skilled detective and may be right; but instead of solving the puzzle or guessing hidden meanings, just ask. People drive themselves crazy by creating stories in their heads about ‘what does it all mean”. Ask. Ask. Ask. Get curious. Be brave and stop wasting time. Chances are, he’ll be happy to answer. And if he doesn’t answer; then, that’s also an answer.

True connection is straightforward and respectful. Someone who wants you is clear in their intentions. He will go the extra mile to communicate that. The beginning of any relationship should feel easy and comfortable. You should always know where you stand and if you don’t; then be brave enough to ask. Your time is precious and so is your heart.
